We have received some well needed good news in this current time.
We were successful in our funding applications to KCC (Kent County Council) Early Help Grant Scheme. Once we are through this challenging time with COVID 19, we will be starting a new project for young people aged 8-18yrs in four areas. We will be delivering our Boxing Youth programme in Tonbridge, Hadlow, Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone for 50 weeks.
This programme is not only for engaging young people in sport and physical activity, but it is to strengthen community relationships between young people and local authority teams. The programme aims are to help all young people through life transitions such as primary – secondary school, secondary school – college & college – work. As part of this project we will also be qualifying 30 young people with a leadership qualification and their first foot on the coaching ladder, by completing the England Boxing BOX Instructor qualification. This will improve the young people’s CV’s, enable them to deliver Boxing Fitness to a beginners standard and for the suitable candidates join Olympia Boxing CIC as a mentee coach. To then potentially gaining a place on our team with a career in Boxing & Sports Coaching.
This is great news for our organisation and also the young people of these areas. We look forward to getting started with the project once we are through this pandemic, to help improve more lives.
