Fit & Fed Goes Virtual

We are super excited along with our partners Moat Foundation and Strengthening Minds. We have re- designed our Stanhope Fit & fed programme so it can still be delivered through the February Half Term on Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th.

Our Fit & Fed programme is very popular in the Stanhope community of Ashford, with generally 30 young people attending daily for fun activities and free lunches.

Fit & Fed is a programme that every community needs especially in these times. Child hunger or school holiday hunger has been a problem for many years, not just since the pandemic as reported in the media or highlighted by celebrities. We have been delivering Fit & Fed programmes in disadvantaged communities for the past 5 years! We provide 3 hours of Boxing, Multi Sport and art & craft activities for young people to engage in through the school holidays and provide a free wholesome lunch and this is free through working with partners such as Moat Foundation the charitable arm from Moat Homes, Arches Local, Fareshare UK, Tesco’s, Asda and other community organisations that want to invest in their communities.

Due to the current lockdown we have re-designed our programme so it can continue. Our coaches will deliver virtual activities for one and a half hours and then we will have one and a half hours set out for food collection slots from the community hub so the young people engaged in our programme can still receive their lunches in a safe Covid secure environment.
